Alfred (Al) Pollard, A.A.E., has worked for the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) since 1994, beginning as a Landside Management Specialist, then as an Airport Licensing Office, an Assistant Airport Manager and, currently, as Chief, Division of Martin State Airport Operations & Maintenance.
Al is a private pilot and holds a B.S. Degree in Aviation Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. A (former) U.S. Marine, Al served in Marine helicopter squadron 204, based in North Carolina.
In addition to serving on the FAA’s Research and Development Advisory Committee, Al is a member of the Aero Club of Washington and a member of the Editorial Board of Airport Magazine. He also currently serves on the Policy Review Committee of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is Chair of their General Aviation Airports Committee. Al is a Past President of the Northeast Chapter of AAAE, and he served four years on the Board of Directors of AAAE.
