Russell C. He has coached over 13,000 business owners over a 20-year career. Four of the last ten “Maryland Small Business Person of the Year” are clients. Russell is currently the Director of Training for the University of Maryland’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC). He coordinated/facilitated hundreds of training programs, performed tax/bookkeeping/auditing services while working at a CPA firm, and handled legislative/constitute issues for a Member of Congress at his Capitol Hill office. As an AmeriCorps member (First Class) he served at-risk youth, flood victims, and disabled veterans, as well as served on two environmental projects.
Russell is a published author and has received numerous awards and recognition including the 2010 Maryland “Minority Business Advocate of the Year;” 2008 U.S. Small Business Administration “Innovator & Excellence” Award for Maryland; 2008 Congressional Citation from Senior Member of House Small Business Committee; 2006 U.S. Small Business Administration “Small Business Service Award for Outstanding Service to Minority Business Development;” 2006 received Proclamation & State Flag from Maryland’s Governor & Lieutenant Governor for “creating legacy wealth for the minority community by encouraging minority entrepreneurs to be stronger leaders and advocates within their community;” 1999 received award from the commanding Major General at Aberdeen Proving Ground for his continued support to veterans.
